1. Role and responsibilities

The Education Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination and monitoring of staff in schools and community, providing task management support to staff and coordinating with and reporting to the Project Officer.

Generic responsibilities

1. Coordinate and monitor the daily work of the Community Mobilisers

2. Provide assistance and support to school staff and teachers working in areas of operation

3. Regularly evaluate the pedagogical material needs of the project and communicate them to the Project Officer, and establish a calendar for distribution.

4. Monitor and track overall progress and attendance of Syrian students with the Community Mobilizers

5. Act as liaison between school teachers/faculty and NRC management including PO and PC

6. Work closely with the PO and TSO on teachers’ capacity building needs

7. Help in establishing Parent Teacher Associations and Students Councils in areas of operation

8. Support the team of engineers and contractors working on the construction especially when it comes to child protection issues

9. Follow up with the protection cases in the schools and make sure to refer them correctly as per the referral pathway in the host community

10. Act as role model and develop excellent team spirit between members of the team.

Specific responsibilities

• Schedule meetings for the Parent Teacher Associations and the Student Councils in close collaboration with the school principals

• Attend PTA and Student Council meetings

• Collaborate with PO on the activities of the PTAs/Student Councils and their sub-clubs

• Train teachers on pedagogical materials kits distributed by NRC when necessary

• Act as PO in his/her absence
