Head of Teacher Training Division (TESOL/DELTA qualified teacher trainer) - Eton Institute
Brief description of role:
As part of our continuous expansion, we are currently recruiting a TESOL/DELTA qualified teacher trainers to head our Teacher Training division. The head of teacher training would manage and oversee the delivery of high quality training onsite and offsite and would support all instructors and trainers.
Education and Experience:
• Must hold the Cambridge DELTA, the Cambridge ESOL DELTA, the Cambridge RSA DTEFLA or Trinity Dip. TESOL
• Must have successfully completed a teacher training or induction programme
• Holders of an in-service ELT qualification at Level 7 with assessed teaching practice would be at an advantage
• Substantial (normally 5 years) varied and current classroom-based ELT experience preferably in more than one context. Experience of teaching a range of levels and different types of class is a requirement
• Evidence of professional commitment (involvement in staff development, conference attendance etc.)
Job Description:
• Head the Teacher Training Department and manage the Instructor’s performance and internal training
• Responsible for the on-going management of our Teacher Training programs and similar programs and to provide support during any related accreditation process
• Monitor and track the Teacher Training Department performance against Learning and Development project deadlines, standard quality of delivery, feedback from students and peers, etc.
• Assist in the recruitment, planning and selection of new Instructors
• Support the quality control of training: delivery, reports of feedback and course evaluations, ensure Instructors deliver client reports at the end of courses, follow processes for courses and products, carry out observations and provide constructive feedback, etc.
• Hold regular and minuted Departmental meetings
• Deliver training when required
• Conduct the on-boarding and Academic inductions
• Identify training requirements for Instructors and meet CPD needs.
• Ensure measures are in place and monitored e.g. appraisals, Instructor of the Month award, incentive programme for senior instructors/high performers, training workshops, qualifications
• Review lesson feedback and course evaluations to identify Instructors training needs
• Assist in communicating feedback with Instructors and resolve any high level complaints or conflict
• Develop the training material, writing content when required, for Public and Corporate courses/workshops in collaboration with the Learning and Development team, to deliver exceptional learning standards
• Manage the process of content writing when outsourced
• Ensure timely delivery of tailored material for each course
• Oversee the end of programme reports to show return on investment
• Support the training of new products to the team members
• Support and contribute to the writing of whitepapers and blogs
• Support the research of opportunities to develop our range of products
