Events Director - q.media
Job Purpose:
• Oversee conceptualization, planning, organizing and execution of events including exhibitions, Professional Conference Organizer (PCO) and other events. Initiate and supervise execution of Company led events.
• Manager relationship with key partners and clients.
Strategic:
• Contribute towards development of q.media Events strategic milestones and business plans.
• Champion the development of event management policies and procedures as well as ensuring they are implemented.
• Maintain the overall effectiveness of the Event Programs Unit.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners ensuring continuation of business and strengthen Company market position.
• Initiate and lead execution of Company led events as well as approach potential partners for sponsorship and event execution.
Operational:
• Proactively approach potential clients to initiate new events as well as to gain their acceptance.
• Initiate and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients to secure future business opportunities.
• Drive and oversee development of proposals and project plans for new events as well as control the entire sales process.
• Oversee marketing of the events to promote their attendance. If required, coordinate sales of the conference tickets.
• Identify possible synergies between execution of multiple events, such as combining orders for service providers to gain more favourable prices or any other opportunities.
• Develop and maintain network of event partners, in particular media, sponsors, venue owners and others.
• Oversee development and approval of event concepts. Provide inputs to make events more productive and effective.
• Oversee any necessary licences and permits are received for events to secure company reputation and minimize project related risks.
• Oversee that event plans are executed on time as well as identify any event execution related risks and ensure they are being proactively addressed.
• Personally facilitate resolution of key event planning and execution issues.
• Develop yearly event plan estimating the level of events to be executed during the year.
• Liaise with support functions (Finance, HR, IT and other) to ensure that all the required support services are provided on time and are of the required level of quality.
• Perform any other work related duties assigned by the GM, Events.
People:
• Ensure effective communication of corporate information to employees under direct supervision including relevant policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with the performance management process and its linkages to learning and development, compensation, promotion, career development and succession planning. This is done in full collaboration with the HR function.
• Coach and mentor direct subordinates to develop their skills and ensure continuous people development.
