Under the supervision of the Water Supply Coordinator, the Water Borehole Monitor is in charge of monitoring and overseeing the water filling process starting from the borehole. This includes - but is not limited to - truck verification and registering, borehole operations monitoring and coordination with other water supply team members to ensure optimized trucking operations.
1.Truck registering includes:
-He/she records all ACTED trucks taking water from the borehole
-He/she verifies that the truck is registered on ACTED master list (front and back license plates, volume and number painted on the truck, ACTED and Unicef visibility)
-He/she verifies the state of the trucks and reports any issue to the Water Supply Coordinator
-He/she registers the following information in his/her log book: time in / time out, license plate, truck number, volume
-He/she ensures that the trucks are filled from a compliant source (i.e. fully licensed drinkable source of water)
2.Borehole monitoring
-He/she reports any issue / problem arising with the borehole (quality issue, mechanical problems, reduced pumping capacity, etc.) and passes on this information as soon as possible to the Water Quality Officer and Water Supply Coordinator
-Occasionally and upon request from the Water Quality Officer, he/she conducts free chlorine residuals and/or turbidity tests at the borehole
-He/she reports the results from these tests in the appropriate template end communicates results promptly to his line manager and the Water Quality Officer
-Under the supervision of the Water Supply Coordinator, he/she liaises with ACTED water account and site monitors at Za’atari’s Eastern gate in order to ensure and facilitate optimum supply from the borehole (improve timing, stop trucking when advised to, etc.)
