Al Jazeera Media Network are currently running a project to Digitalise all their Tape based assets into the Media Asset Management system (MAM) which manages the physical archive storage. Currently most of the assets are catalogued, with metadata (which in some cases is bilingual) entered in one of three databases belonging to the Network.

As a LAM Operator you will be required to have a full overview of all operational aspects of the Legacy Archive Migration (LAM) process:

Role Responsibilities:

- Preparation & cleaning of tapes

- Loading of tapes in tape robot,

- Ingest tapes from VTRs and

- Manage upload of files stored on XDcam discs

- Operating the tools required to achieve this job to a very high standard with immense speed and accuracy.

- Required to work across all channels

- Expected to understand and adhere to the workflows and processes of the LAM .

- Show a consistent ability to meet tight deadlines whilst demonstrating flexibility & prioritization.

- Demonstrate initiative and proactive behavior.

This role requires an understanding of:

- Archiving processes,

- Matadata,

- Knowledge of server based environments,

- Familiar with all current tape / disc formats.
