Facillities Manager - Anjum Hotels


The Facilities Manager is a critical position reporting to the GM. This creative and knowledgeable individual will be directly responsible for the leadership, organization, management and operations of the Facilities Management Division. Ensuring compliance with the FMD Mission and Strategic Plan, this individual will oversee all aspects of current projects, facilities strategic planning, facilities renewal and deferred maintenance. Direct the development of project plans, manage requirement of resources and related functional activities within the FMD, develop project structures including facilities and systems, monitor and analyse the effectiveness of project planning activities and utilization of resources, manage and control FMD processes.



The diversity of these projects covers hotels, airports, schools, government complexes, and public utilities. The Division activities cover the day-to-day management of client facilities to the highest professional standards, utilizing the most efficient and cost-efficient methods.



Facilities Management Division lines of services covers all technical (HVAC, Plumbing & pumps, Water treatment, Kitchen & laundry equipment, Power generators, Low & medium voltage electrical equipment, Lifts & escalators, Telecommunication equipment) and non-technical activities (Housekeeping, Landscaping, Pest control & irrigation, Fire & safety, Security, Renovation and repairs).







Key Accountabilities:







• Directs, manages, and administers departmental efforts associated with the maintenance and repair of hotel buildings, structures, landscaped grounds, roads, walkways, drives, parking lots, curbs, gutters, etc.; enhances facility utilization.



• Develops a facilities strategic plan that includes deferred and preventive maintenance programs.



• Develops programs to maximize the use of building assets, including space, systems, furniture, fixtures, and equipment; makes recommendations in planning, including estimating space requirements, equipment needs and requirements of buildings and grounds maintenance, renovations, and contractual services.



• Provides general directives to enhance productivity and continuously explores opportunities to streamline and improve related processes.



• Manages FMD processes, assesses process performance, and determines best practice methods to reengineer/optimize processes.



• Plans mobilization /demobilization activities and follows up with project management and other functions to formulate necessary arrangements and ensure the execution of tasks as stipulated.



• Coordinates and follow-up the root cause of client complaints or major breakdowns and corrective action to ensure non-occurrence of complaints or breakdowns.



• Oversees the work of custodial services on FMD; serves as liaison with grounds, plowing, and other contracts relative to Facilities Management.



• Develops, prioritizes and manages the Facilities Management budget; monitors funds and tracks expenditures in accordance with established policies and procedures.



• Manages various facilities contracts including utilities, snow removal and professional services.



• Establishes design and construction requirements; prepares bid specifications and procedures for consideration of outside contracts; prepares plans, surveys, and estimates and maintains records, as required.



• Accountable directly or indirectly through subordinate managers for all Facilities Management staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Anjum Hotel’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance.



• Maintains comprehensive, regular contact with all Clients and organizational stakeholders concerning their needs for facilities support and monitors the relative satisfaction of same; ensures good working relations between Facilities Management and all other Division.
