Senior Technical Coordinator (Livelihoods and Food Security) - Oxfam


-Provide effective leadership and support to the advisory/programme quality team.



- ensure implementation of Oxfam’s performance management policy and procedure.



-Build and maintain an in depth knowledge of the political, social and economic factors in Jordan effecting key areas of economic development.



-Identify and build relationships and partnerships with civil society organisations, relevant individuals working in government and key players in the private sector.



-Lead proposal development and secure funds for both humanitarian and long term livelihoods and economic justice programming.



-Consolidate & develop broader interventions in support of economic development in Jordan.



-Maintain an overview of all livelihoods and economic justice programming in Jordan and ensure that Oxfam and partner teams are able to access appropriate and timely technical support.



-Develop a model of change and strategy for livelihood work and ensure qualitative programmatic implementation of livelihood interventions, through appropriate use of Oxfam tools related to gender, enterprise and markets, women’s economic leadership and analysis.



-Support Oxfam and partner teams in monitoring, evaluating and learning from ongoing livelihoods and economic justice work and ensure effective knowledge management.



-Identify and pursue opportunities to integrate livelihoods and economic justice into other areas of programming, focusing on water governance interventions.



-Represent Oxfam’s Livelihoods and economic justice programme to donors, government, the UN and other key actors.

Consulting Opportunities - Chemonics International


Chemonics is anticipating the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to fund a five-year project titled the Improved Water Sector Management and Governance Program to assist the Government of Jordan with sustainable water sector management and governance. The project will support strengthening policy development and capacity building efforts so Jordan’s water sector institutions can effectively and efficiently ensure the country’s water security. Illustrative interventions and activities include:



• Assistance to municipalities in water conservation programs



• Promotion of new technologies or behavior changes, in coordination with utilities and/or the private sector, that will lead to water conservation



• Review of subsidies and tariffs for irrigation and water supply



• Capacity building of policy-setting personnel involved in the water sector and water reform process and technical assistance to support that process
