Project Planner / Scheduler
You are expected to display a high degree of capability of using Project Planning software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera. In addition, this includes the ability to interpret the progress of the project accurately and depict the actual scenario in the (updated) Project Time Schedule.
The projects involved include the engineering thermal desalination equipment’s and turnkey plants for sales proposals and projects execution covering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the North Africa countries.
I) Internal Organization Relationships & Interfacing:
• Reporting to: PROJECT MANAGER
• Internal Interfacing:
o LEAD DISCIPLINE ENGINEERS - For progress on Engineering related scope
o PROCUREMENT MANAGER - For progress on Procured related scope.
o CONSTRUCITON MANAGER - For progress on Construction related scope.
o QC INSPECTOR - For critical outstanding Non-conformance Reports.
II) Key PRIMARY & SECONDARY Tasks/Responsibilities:
• The following tasks and responsibilities outlined below are relevant to your current assignment:
o Preparation of draft Project Time Schedule for comments by all functional departments; i.e. Engineering, Procurement & Projects
o Consolidate all information upon finalization of draft, to create Baseline Project Time Schedule
o Prepare rolling 2-weeks ‘look ahead’ plans and analysis for the previous 2-weeks
o Regular updating of Project Time Schedule for Weekly/Monthly Progress Reports
o Advance and timely warning by ‘Red-flagging’ critical items to ensure all required action is taken to prevent project from being delayed
As APS is an EPC Contracting organization, your Secondary tasks and responsibilities shall cover the following areas as well:
• Providing Technical Support during bids / tenders for new projects, e.g. Prepare draft Project Time Schedule for internal discussion prior to bid submission.
III) Other Required Characteristics:
The other required characteristics expected of you are as follows:
• Result oriented and focused to meet fixed deadlines
• At least 5 years working experience in projects involving Plant construction and ability to demonstrate competence usage in Microsoft Project and Primavera
• Highly alert personality
• Practice good teamwork
• Able to adapt to working environment of both Main Office and Project Site (it is mandatory for work on the Project Site during the construction (including testing and commissioning) stage)
• Good time-keeping and accuracy in preparation and updating of Schedules for Project Progress Reports (Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports)
• Display a high level of integrity at all time, particularly in the handling of the information relating to the Company and project
