Safety Chief - IEC


1. Position Summary



Supervises activities of safety in IMC.







2. Position Accountability /Job Duties







2.1 Administers and coordinates the safety department in order to provide a high standard of a multiple and trustworthy safety for employees, the hospital complex in order to meet the requirements of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center within the recommendations and policies of the Hospital.



2.2 Supervises the performance of the personnel in the safety department.



2.3 Provides reports and information to head of safety department in matters related to safety. Develops and interprets statistical data safety department activities. Provides daily, monthly and annual reports prior to their submission to the head of safety.



2.4 Utilizes modern technology and procedures in the field of safety and fire prevention to the best interest of the hospital.



2.5 Ensures that all new projects, expansions and renovations are compliance with appropriate provisions of latest edition of life safety code (LSC).



2.6 Reports all emergency calls.



2.7 Evaluates equipment and makes purchased recommendations. Evaluates safety department training activities and needs.



2.8 Ensures that all new safety department personnel are instructed in the practices, procedures, operations and activities of the safety department.



2.9 Ensure that the safety hazardous materials and the decontamination and spillage control procedures are implemented.



2.10 Supervises the achievement of the monthly and annual plan for the department within the budget.



2.11 Supervises personnel transactions in the safety department with respect to transfers, deductions, overtime, work schedule, leaves absences. Evaluates and revises departmental policies and procedures and implements the internal policy.



2.12 Ensure that all safety department equipment is fully functioning to the extent possible by directing operational supervisions and staff in the equipment inspection and test schedules as per the standard and in liaison with other department if necessary, and carry out quality improvement checks of tasks performed.



2.13 Acts as advisor to the head of safety on all matters concerning safety/loss prevention.



2.14 Performs any other related duties as assigned.
