Job Purpose

Main purpose of the job and reason why this job exists

Assist the Marketing Manager in planning, controlling and executing the operation of the marketing department of THE COMPANY to ensure that agreed short and long term business targets are met and that the corporate image, brands and products are protected and further developed.

- The Brand Manager will still have basic knowledge about ALL the company’s portfolio. However his direct responsibility is for the assigned brands.- Assist Marketing Manager in developing and delivering brand strategies and plans and make sure that these are consistent and adjusted to current market situation and to the overall strategic objectives for THE COMPANY.- Closely monitor Marketing Spending for The Brand and make sure activities comply with agreed-on annual budgets.- Idea Generation, planning and implementation of marketing activities. Ensure an all year round level of activities that are innovative and pro-active vis-a-vis competition. - New product development - coordinate with Business Development manager regarding NPD ideas and proposals. Develop a selling proposition and a complete launch plan for retail. - Propose and secure implementation of trade marketing activities, including promotions, branding, sampling activities and others, in coordination with the sales department. Make sure trade activities are optimized in relation to cost and campaign objectives.- Follow market development through frequent market visits and coordinate with sales dept. about the situation and corrective action needed.- Initiate regular brand and category reports for all relevant brands and prod-ucts, and share findings with management and sales department.- Monitor competition and prepare monthly reports on competitor activities and propose retaliation plans.- Responsible for keeping the product sales handbook up-to-date.- Responsible for developing planograms of assigned categories for the Mer-chandising team.- Initiate surveys and ad hoc research when needed. Share findings internally and suggest action plan.
